I am going to enter some of my recent work into a Pet Photo Contest… but can’t decide which ones are my best images. It is hard for a photographer to decide as we often get “married to our work”.
So which one of these do you think is the “cutest”? I already have had a few comments in email so many thanks all! I am partial to the first 5, but not sure what real people like. Very cute! I think I’m partial to #1,2,5,7,11. That’s Pup ‘n Goose, Sleeping Pup, Posing Pup (without the bottle), Pup on Barrel, and Pup Carrying Frisbee. Julie is partial to #6, Pup w/ Tongue.

How adorable! I’m really liking the one with the tongue sticking out….. its just one of those “cutesy things”. As a side note, I also like that one the best because the dog’s eyes stand out and are crystal clear… along with the texture of his whiskers….and the color scheme…. the pink of the tongue contrasts against the green…. The light hits his head just enough so that he looks so cuddley! My second fave is the one with him holding the branch in his mouth. Looks as if he’s up to no good….

I am most partial to sleeping puppy. The rest of the photos have items that distract from the puppy, which I think goes against the grain of the contest.
I like the one with the dog staring down the Goose decoy. Especially since he appears to be of a hunting breed. While I really like the others, they all are of a theme that’s been done before. The first seems to be a really unique compositon and unlike others I’ve seen. Also, its really cute. Is this an annual contest? Can you view the winners of past years to see what the judges liked in the past and what has been done before? Good Luck.
